Flower in the Rubble
Fine Art Ink, Stipple Art · 59 × 84 cm · 2024
I created this piece to capture the smallest, quietest form of resistance: the act of growing in a place built to destroy you. Dot by dot, I shaped this child sitting among the ruins — a figure surrounded by collapse, yet holding a fragile plant with the gentleness only innocence can offer. The destroyed buildings, the broken streets, the silence of what used to be home — all of it forms the backdrop of a world that has taken too much. But in the center of that grief, the child becomes a seed of defiance. The plant in their hands is not just a flower; it is the stubborn promise that life will return, even here. This artwork is a conversation between devastation and renewal. The rubble tells the story of what was lost, but the child writes the story of what can still be born. Even in the harshest landscapes, hope chooses its place, grows without permission, and refuses to die.
