The Jester’s Toast

Mixed media · 50 × 70 cm · 2003

The Jester’s Toast is a carnival of contrasts. A clown with a wide grin raises two drinks in celebration, his costume bursting with stripes and polka dots. Yet the fixed smile hints at hidden sorrow. Joy and disguise intertwine here, reflecting the masks we wear and the bittersweet edge of revelry.
