This powerful piece is a testament to the discipline of stippling (dot art), chosen to articulate the moment where fear turns into power. Every ounce of emotion and every millimeter of texture is built through the meticulous placement of individual dots. I used extremely fine art pens to control the density of the dots. The stark white areas—the boy's gaze and the highlights on the cobra—are achieved by leaving the paper untouched, demanding the eye focus on the confrontation. The deep shadows are built by dense dot-work, conveying the heavy presence of the unknown. The snake symbolizes a child’s deepest anxiety, yet the boy deliberately holds it himself . This composition is about human endurance and courage—the decision to meet a challenge head-on, with an unblinking gaze, achieved one purposeful dot at a time.
