The Departure Angel of Baalbek

Oil on Canvas · 59 × 84 cm · 2021

Stone Sentinel of Baalbek stands as a monument to ancestral endurance. A sculpted fragment, isolated from Lebanon’s ancient ruins, is elevated to sacred prominence. The erosion of time is visible upon its features, yet its expression endures — calm, knowing, eternal. The abstracted background, painted in muted tension, heightens the stone’s presence, as though history itself leans forward in reverence. This is not merely a ruin; it is a witness across ages, silently greeting each generation that passes through its gaze.
