Inheritance

Oil on Canvas · 59 × 84 cm · 2024

Inheritance confronts the unseen forces that shape identity before we are even aware of ourselves. A human figure is enveloped by a great rope — symbol of lineage, culture, duty, and memory. The landscape beneath suggests fields both nourishing and burdensome, hinting at histories of toil, resilience, or oppression. The figure’s lifting face becomes the focal point — a moment of questioning: Are we bound, or are we held? This painting is not a statement, but a mirror held to the soul of heritage.
