Before the Curtain Rises
Fine Art Ink, Stipple Art · 59 × 84 cm · 2025
In this piece, I wanted to capture a stolen moment — a quiet breath just before transformation. The woman’s gesture, simple yet intimate, reflects a timeless ritual: the act of preparing oneself, both for the day and for the world beyond the frame. It is a pause filled with anticipation, softness, and unspoken introspection. I chose to build this scene through Dot Art — a medium that mirrors the story itself. Nothing here is rushed. Every dot is a heartbeat, a decision, a fragment of time. The image grows the same way a life does: patiently, deliberately, one moment stacked upon another until meaning begins to emerge. As the dots accumulate, the composition takes on the texture of an old photograph, yet it vibrates with a living energy that only pointillism can create. Light dances across her figure and the folds of her garment, giving the moment a delicate shimmer — a balance of vulnerability, grace, and quiet strength. This artwork is my attempt to honour the beauty hidden in stillness — the tenderness found in the moments no one is meant to see.
